I actually consider them CHEAP to get and maintain. For what my neighbors pay in car payments a month, one could buy a well set up FSJ. In year my jeep will be worth the same (if not more, when considering scrap metal prices). Their 50,000 dollar Power Ram will be worth..less. Much less. No brainer to me.

This is one of the main reasons this forum is so successful. We're here for you man, we've been there, are there, will likely stay there.

I guess I don't really want to know why the fascination/obsession with these things is so fun, but these are my thoughts:

* Size matters, and we like driving a big rig;
* They're relatively easy to work on, and compared to other vehicles, we prefer these;
* And once they are in good working order, they are rock solid, thus:
* Keeping them going makes us unique, which makes us a BREED APART.

So, we like our obsession. It's comfortable; like opium.:D

Happy Saint Paddy's Day!! Erin Go Brach!

My wife keeps telling me "no more Jeeps", but I'm going to look at two more this week...

BTW, I've only owned 8 over the last ten years. I've only managed to snag up a small portion of these beasties. And none with a 401 Flint!! ;)

Gas prices have dampened my enthusiasm somewhat.

I hear that. I'm lucky theres good wheeling close by, even the 3 hr trips to Moab and Ouray will hurt getting there though. There's a lot of fun within 10 minutes-to an hour though. I grew up in Ct/MA..not much to do besides power lines and private property..dont know if the MBA lets people bring trucks in state land anymore by you :(

I still plan on finishing my two project jeeps just trying to keep the cost down to the bare minimum and flip parts for project costs. It's not hard to do if time isn't an issue. My hat off (if I wore one) to people that drive thousands of miles for events and do big frame off resto's though!

I still can't help cruising Craigslist or random backroads, just to obssess over all the amazing deals.

If the word "free" is in the ad, I'm like a Tiger after red meat.

I admit, I even covet many on this board:rolleyes:

Bill and fulsizjeep, looking at those pictures is like looking at a herd of Bison on the open planes in during the day, you just have them fenced in :D its good to see the livestock hangout close to the big house!:D

Its not bad to be a addict. I have several other cars/trucks and when I talk about maybe selling off some of the herd, the wife tells me I better not sell the Chero...she is not all that crazy on me spending time to modify the ole girl, but I don't think it will ever leave our family. Heck I just have one FSJ and a YJ.....humm....maybe if I sell the wife's YJ and pick up a 2door Chero, cut the top off, get a soft top made, also a bikini top, it would like be driving a YJ wouldn't it:thumbsup: saw a white one like that on the bay.
