I started to get my GW ready for a herculiner today and tried to remove the seat belt bolts and the bolts wont budge. I will try a few more days of PB Blaster on the bolts but I cleaned them from the under side and still no movement. I don't want to strip the torx bolt out but, should they be this difficult or has jeep made these things un-removable. My 77CJ was not near as hard when I herculined it?

Everyone can stop replying I got all of the seats and carpet out today. Only had three holes to fill but more would have grown had I not gone ahead with the Herculiner install. I think I will run the Herc. on to the kick plates and down the out side of the rocker panels. I hung the carpet up on the fence sprayed it with greaselighting and pressure washed it looks good as new , kind of.

Board's been slow the past two days. Those seat belt bolts can be impossible and lots of fun when the bit strips while you have all your weight on the breaker bar

I'd just use some metal cleaning/degreaser on the floor, dry it and call it good.

Take this for what it's worth.

I DA'ed all of the floor on my 88 before I put down Herculiner to give it a good tooth.

The stuff peals off easy. It has been only 3 years. Long story short...I need to redo the floor this summer. I'm going to go with Durabak next.

Durbank the stuff walmart sells? Only had the herculiner in the CJ for a year before I sold it so don't have a lot of experience.

Call around and find a shop that does Line X or Rhino Linning and see what they charge. Since you have all the prep out of the way, I wouldnt expect it to cost THAT much more than a couple DIY kits.

Plus, I have experiance with Line X, and that stuff is AMAZING. It looks great and is strong as nails!

I have linex in the back of my pickup truck. Its been there for about 5 years now, and almost looks good as new - slightly faded. I would get linex again.
