Richard Stinky is turning out to be the ultimate cheap Jeep. The 78 J20 was free with title, now I have found some 37" MT's for free. Now will the 37 x 12.5 x16.5 fit on the original steel wheels w/out rubbing the springs in the stock setup? If so, how much? Body rub is not going to be an issue for sure. I don't want to ruin my budget by paying to have these mounted and they not work.

They will rub in on the springs. My 12.50's barely clear with 8" wheels. The stock 6.5" wheels would make it rub BAD. Get some 10" wheels to have the best clearance. But 8" wheels will work.

I guess I might as well look for some 16" wheels then.
