Whats a good replacement for the mc 4350 ? My carb is pretty varnished and the choke doesnt work. What are some options ?

Yours sounds like a good candidate for a rebuild. Even a can of carb cleaner will do wonders for the varnish and might allow the choke to start working. Holley truck avenger is a good 4bbl replacement. I'm running a Holley 2bbl performance carb that works great

I'm running the Truck Avenger 670. Works great but takes a little while to dial it in. People have posted on here before with good things to say about the Edelbrock offroad carb. Its easier to dial in. Cheaper alternative would be a junk yard quadrajet. Do a search there was some good info and debate about this not that long ago.

As an important side note, the Truck Avenger will not bolt up to your intake. The 4350 uses its own spread bore patern. It requires a semi-hard to find adapter (look for an adapter thats ment for a 70's ford car 460).

But, the 4350 is an awesome carb off road. But they suffer from warpage issues. Hard to find one that isnt. And the primaries are often too small to use by themselves. And when the secondaries open, say hello to 7mpg.

The quadra-jet has been called the poor man's EFI. As long as you can find one that doesn't leak internally, they are a good alternative.

Although not a 4v, our Motorcraft 2v are pretty darn good off-raod. Just thought I'd give them a plug.

got rid of my 4350 cause it was warped and got a edelbrock 1806, i like it. the adapter isnt hard to find on summit just look for a ford 460 spreadbore to squarbore adapter. dont go to autozone they'll tell you its a quadrajet spreadbore.
