I'm trying to prepare for dragging home my first FSJ - a Wide Track Cherokee Chief, to be exact. I'm borrowing a friends F350 because I don't think my '06 Unlimited would be able to make it up the steep hills... Uhaul's car trailer says it can handle up to a 79.25" outside tire width and 133" of wheel base. They also say a max load of 4000 pounds, which I'm pretty sure the Chief exceeds by a few pounds.
So, will it fit? I'd drive it home, but it's a 300 mile trip, and then I'd have to leave my Jeep behind because I'm pretty sure the new one wouldn't be able to tow it.

Heck, an M-715 fits on the U-haul trailer.
A WT Cherokee should be no problem.

Be sure to buy the insurance because you may bend a trailer fender squeezing the Jeep in there..
I have driven up one before hauling a W/T..

Well, not all things fit 'well' on a UHaul Car Trailer!

But, W/T Cherokee Chief should be okay.
Good luck and be safe!

But yes, a W/T Cherokee w/stock tires will fit on a U-Haul AT (auto transport). Any tire size larger than 31s will need the larger AT. Youll be able to tell the 2 by one being orange, and the larger (wider) one is silvery galvanized. We got my old '81 on one of the smaller ones and it has 32x10.5s and we mashed a fender and had to let the air out of the tires to strap them down.

I was able to get my 79 J-10 on the orange AT with no problems. It was just wide enough with 31's, so a WT should fit just fine.

If you use a tow dolly, be sure to disconnect the drive shafts!

Just for the record, I towed my Cherokee to this year's ECI on a UHaul auto transport. Had to use the silver galvanized one as the orange one was not quite big enough. But I fit my Chero fairly easy and it is sitting on 74 J10 D44 axles on 40x17 Ground Hawgs. It was close, but it made it there and back no problemo. Oh, and I towed it with my 1/2 ton Tahoe.

I've moved 3 FSJ's on U-haul trailers over 700 miles. Your WT should fit, but barely widthwise. A longbed J-truck just barely makes the length. Don't plan on using the U-Haul tire straps for tires bigger than 30". Get some chains and binders. If your cherokee sits low, it may be tough to open the doors, but I think one of the fenders is a tilt-away.
Don't tell U-Haul you re hauling an FSJ. Say it's a CJ or XJ. Those trailers will handle more than 4000 lbs.
