Wasn't real sure where to put this, hope this is good. Anyway, I've got a line on the axles from this old dodge truck, but we're not entirely sure what the front axle is. We know the rear is a D60 FF. I think I want them either way seeing as the front is already spring over and has high steering. If I do take them I'll convert at least the front to disks and rebuild them both. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,

Looks like a D44HD. I have the same axle setup in my J. For a newer setup like yours, the spring perches should be about perfect.
Why not just fix it up and use that beauty as a daily driver?

It looks like D44 HD front, 3" tubes, .500 wall. Plenty rugged, width should be 67" WMS to WMS. (I think chevy is 69") D60 rear is 65" WMS to WMS. Gearing should be around 4.10, I think. For the price, I would definately get it!

Heeheee.....good one! I'm the one that has the chance to get this truck, and if so, will be trading the axles for Anthony's '79 J10 that he was gonna part out. I was told this truck was driven to that spot and runs fine, though I couldn't get it started when I tried(might be outta gas...doh!). Body is REALLY shot.....but glass was all intact and definitely some parts are usable. I would LOVE to have a crew cab 4x4 pickup for a work truck, and have entertained the thought of fixing it up, but really, I'd prefer a J10 to all the work this would require to really use it. The plywood in the bed is there for a reason.....there isn't much bed otherwise! smile.gif
But, alas....need to go back over and take another look at it. I know both Anthony and I appreciate all the input you all have been on this....it's definitely helped!
I think I picked off 3 woodticks just during the time I was on the ground taking pics over there yesterday....sheesh...
Take care.....

I'd save the old Dodge if it was mine. I like a challenge like that. Looks like it could be a nice truck. But those axles should work great for Anthony's J10. Looks like whats under my J20 except for the drum fronts. Should be easy to switch to discs since they are open knuckle.
OK seriously...
I WAS JSUT KIDDING
I guess I'll save your feelings and not really tell you what I REALLY think about that particular model of Dodge.
Here's ssomething on the brighter side...I might give my left nut for an old 40's Power Wagon in decent condition.

Thanks everyone. You pretty much confirmed our thoughts. I think I'll take the axles, assuming UnkleMunky doesn't decide to fix that bad boy up. ;)
Thanks again,
Anthony
