I was at the shop yesterday where my 87GW is sitting awaiting a re-motor. I was looking it over and saw something that I meant to ask about a while back but got sidetracked with other issues. There is some discoloration around the back window up under the roof lip. My gw is the creamy white color and there are a few small spots that look off color, sorta bruised looking--a real pale brown. It this interior rust working its way through from inside. If so where is the water coming it from?--roof rack mounts?

Once it get it back I'll be dropping the near mint headliner and replacing the factory roof rack with a TadRak so I'll be able to get to it---I assume. I figure I can sand out the loose stuff and then hit it with a primer stabilizer and seal coat it. I found half a dozen cans of white spray on bedliner in the markdown area at walmart I thought I might be able to use as an undercoater in trouble spots---front floors under carpet etc. might be able to use some there too before I reinsulate and reinstall the headliner.

sounds like it is rust and yes, the roof rack well nuts and roof rack gaskets tend to let a bunch of water through. Make sure to check if it is rust, and if so treat it before much time goes along.
