Simply this: will the installation of a roll bar, secured to the bed of course, guarantee that a truck's cab will remain uncrushed in event of an offroad or onroad tumble?
This is a few paychecks away, and I'll be honest--I want one for the looks. But I also need it to be a practical decision, too.
Thanks for any input, Brent

A rollbar will only keep the cab from getting completely crushed, you'll still most likely lose the glass, but your chances of walking away are increased.

I would tie the role bar into the frame. Having it ont he bed will help, but it wouldent take much for the bed to get ripped off, or for the role bar to smash through the bottom of the bed.

How does a rollbar mount to the frame/body? Holes in bed then straight down? Brent

if you had a roll bar in the rear and a front pusher (like rockjeep44's) that wouldnt let the cab touch the ground that might be the only way to save the cab. but that would only work on flat ground. how about a exo-cage around the whole cab :D .
