t18a fsj trans question.

I have a t18a from a 69j3000. I'm currently looking at all the little pieces :D I have to replace the input shaft from it to fit it in my little jeep. "my cherokee has one already"

My question is this. Are the countershafts for t18's the same down through the various models? I would assume so and I haven't found anything to dispute that. I know the reverse idler is most likely different since its in a different place hehe. anyways I figured someone in here's probably at least rebuilt one "I have not yet but have good help local" any input or help,tips warnings etc you can provide I surely appreciate.

they T18a changed in 1980 i believe was theyear, when reverse got moved down by 4th gear, away from 3rd. Otherwise, all old style granny low versions *should* be the same. The close ratio version is different I believe though.
