Hey all, names Chris here. Looking @ a '84 j20 out this way. looks ok, needs some work, but for the age seems REAL nice. decoded the vin last night, (thanx!) has the 8400 gvw. My Q is, How do they tow? I am looking to tow my Zuk on a trailer, with a truck camper on the back. I know it's a bit smaller then other 3/4 ton trucks, but how much size difference IS there? Am I nuts?:D

inside the bed rails they are ~2" narrower, but thats the main difference size wise. The one you are lookin at will have the 132" wb...and those springs are stiff as h*** (ive got them)! should be able to carry what you need no problem, but make sure you run through the braking system to make sure its up to par.

More info on this. Pass side has a new dent, ft edge of the door, into the edge of the fender. He hit it plowing the drive last weekend, not bad, but noticeable. I REALY don't know these trucks, but have always liked them.

I am selling my 1984 jeep j20.it has an amc360 d44,d60,np208,and a tf727.It has hedman hedders, duel 3inch exhaust, all new brake parts, brakelines, tranny pan gasket and filter, insulation.vinyl carpet, bucket seats, center console, new shocks, tires, recent bodywork and paint.i have the frame for a flatbed on it and it just needs wood.the original bed comes with it which is rusted but fixable.I also have a plow that comes with it.It runs and drives great and could be used as a daily driver.i am looking for 2500 obo
Beside the new dent, I noticed it needs some wireing work, radio and plow wireing needs work, "scotch loks" under the hood, looks like the ignition box was replaced using them. (I HATE them things!) Needs ammeter rewired. Has 2 gauge clusters, one matches with 75k on the odo, other one, (installed) is black with 155k, Exhaust needs to be redone, only goes past cab, and only has a cat on pass side. Flatbed will need to sit lower for a camper, and it will need a hitch and trailer wireing. If I get this it WILL be a daily driver, (**** the mileage!):D. I have a company truck for work, but this will be my hauler for road trips as well.
Your thoughts?

You definately need to check the floor out really good. I would say it is not worth his asking price and would offer him less, especially after the "new" dents.
