When I put the blinker does it come directly from the steering column to the lights in rear? How can I tell which wire this is? This is in my 68 wag

What are you trying to do?
The turn signal lamps are connected to a relay (blinker) at/around the fuse block . This relay is controlled by the stalk (switch)on the steering column. Can't help with color codes for a '68 but it should be a simple process of elimination as there's nothing else on the stalk.

ummm-no fuse blocks in 68.....
There's still a signal relay/flasher under the dash. Prolly just hanging from wires but it's there...well was/should be there anyway. Big round silver thingie.
