Ordered, received and started to install the ESPO poly body mount kit. Shocked when all the bolts/nuts came loose with impact (soaked twice) so I should have known it was to good to be true. :D This 84 J-10 has (6) cab mounts and (8) bed mounts but the kit contains only 12 pieces! Don't know if somewhere along the line a PO added (2) but all mounts look original (same layer of rust). Any chance that someone might have (2) left over from their install? REALLY don't want to substitute another material and ESPO says their supplier only packages them complete. They have no extras and ain't gonna make exceptions (since I ordered my leaf springs at the same time and mentioned I was a member of this club I'm a little confused why they couldn't accomodate me  ). Has anyone else had this problem? I would be in debt to anyone that might have (2) extra body mounts... round poly mount with dimensions of 2-1/4" Wide X 1" Tall with a 7/8" center whole which grows to 1-1/4" wide half way thru the mount.

Thanks

thats a bummer, i have espo stuff and i hope they can correct the problem or they'll lose alot of business from us. i asked them to push out the rubber and install poly in my new springs and they said yeah right we don't do that. we buy them assembled. wasn't really happy with that reply and being a spring shop supposedly you would think they could do it. seems to me they are really a middle man and just order and ship what they get.

I don't want to harp on them because they were friendly and returned my message but I just can't believe this is the first incident. Laura wasn't going to be convinced that I needed their help and actually suggested I get the guys in this club to buy an "extra" set if this was going to continue happening! So...still looking for a generous FSJ'er with a couple of extra mounts.

Call them and talk to customer service about returning the order.

Scare 'em, and then really think about following through.

Good luck.

Are you doing a body lift? My J-ten only has 6 rubber mounting points. The bed is bolted directly to the frame- no need for a poly mount there.
Did you get 12 mounts or are they 2pc mounts.
1 upper & 1 lower = 6 mounts or 12 pcs.
Just thinking that the rubber mounts were 2pcs thus giving you the total of 12.

hmmmm..there should be 4 mounting points for the cab itself and 2 for the front clip/grill holder thingy(lol i dont know what its called)

Dave, never even considered the bed would not have rubber mounts. The more I think about it your probably right about the 2 PC mount at the cab connections also. After taking the count I stopped working on it since I knew I might not be able to complete the job. Darn, as I'm writing this I'm realizing my bad assumption! Since the bed squeaks at the connections anyway maybe I should still consider a donut spacer of some material? Anybody got any ideas? The bed is getting pulled anyway to clean up the bed front rust, remove frame rust and clean up the rust on the back of the cab.

There are what appears to be flat pcs of rubber between my box and frame. They are thin so you could probably cut some out of an old innertube. This should work to isolate any squeeks or rattles.

Took a quick trip to Lowes and I think some type of heavy rubber washer from plumbing would do the trick. Once I pull the bed next weekend I will have an exact measurement and put something at the connection. Metal to metal on something that moves and vibrates seems like an invitation for more rust.

My problem is I spent an hour adding up the tips, hose, primer and paint and wondering what the old boy would look like if I turned my paint sprayer loose... this could get out of control.

How about pieces of tire sidewall, say from an old ATV tire for the rubber washers. They would be heavier than plumbing stuff but thin enuff to replace OEM.....

Just a thought to ponder.....
