Working on the carb today and it looks like I'll probably need a kit.Previous owner tells me the carb is not original, but was the only one available when he needed a replacement. This carb works so good,I'd really hate to replace it again.I just need a few small parts.

Are all motorcraft 4 barrels the same?
Do they all take the same kit?
I have a tag with these numbers and letters
large 6PAFA,small dea8e3
Can anyone tell me what this means?

You should be able to take those tag letters to your local parts store to get the right rebuild kit. At least that's how it has worked for me with both NAPA and Autozone. Hope this helps!

Well, OK, since you asked nicely... ;)

Actually, I have no idea. I know all 4350's are mechanically the same, but I'm sure the jetting for the 360's and 401's was different than for the Ford 460's. I think there were some differences in the fuel-bowl vent.

Beyond that, though, I couldn't say. I don't know how to decode that label.
