I recently acquired a Motorcraft 2150 in good shape from a 1985 Jeep in the boneyard. I've had persistent troubles with hesitation with my current carb and thought the later version might solve that problem.

Has anyone ever adapted a later 2150 to an earlier model? Is it worth the trouble or should I just forget about it?

The biggest issue I've run into is what to connect to the vacuum port on the power valve. Otherwise, it matches up fine.

You'll want to connect the power valve to manifold vacuum. I believe you'll find a vacuum port directly in front of it, you can make work.

You'll also want to take the jets, squirters, and accel pump off of the original 2150, to transplant on the new, otherwise, you'll choke the engine, and will be disappointed with performance.

That's all I can think of, off of the top of my head, but you will want to adj the idle mixture, and possibly the float to the 78 settings, too.

Lindel--

Thanks for the response. I got busy after I posted and couldn't get back until today. That's one of the problems with having a job. Sometimes there are things to do. :D
