...and with my family too, but mostly back with Herc! :fsj:

A year is a long time to spend away from your Jeep. She looks good. Rear quarters down at the rear corner of the wheel openings have gotten pretty bad. Under the wood around the rear marker lights is starting to get tender too. I'm gonna have to pay the body some attention soon before it starts to rot, especially since I'm going to relocate her to New England for a few years. It won't take long to rot up there. Runs great though. It sat out in the cold for about a week at a friend's house before I got back. I jumped in the seat, gave the skinny pedal 2 quick pumps and she fired right up for me. The electrical work Nikki did while I was gone looks great. Looks like all the leaks I repaired while I was home last summer are still tight. I put in my new fuel level sending unit yesterday, that seems to work right. It had some gas in the tank when I got home, then I put in 10 gallons. The new sender says it's got just under 3/4 of a tank, that seems about right to me. I'll check fluid levels tonight to get her ready for the road trip to VT. I'm so happy to be back!

Welcome back!

If you are going to New England you might just want to park it for the winter to keep the metal termites at bay.

I had to hug Nikki before Herc. Herc wouldn't fit in the airport terminal to meet me at the baggage claim. :D Nikki also had my keys, so...

Unfortunately I'm not moving back to New England. I'm moving to Italy. Herc is gonna live at a friend's house in VT on a dirt road that doesn't get salted during the winter. She'l be parked most of the time so hopefully I have a Jeep instead of the rotten remnants of a Jeep when I get back.

Why don't you treat it with some POR15 before you go? It'll be wicking moisture up from the ground, and grass in the summertime while it sits.

I won't have time to prep it and coat it before I go. We plan to save up money and have my friend take Herc to have some body work done while we're gone. We'll have it done then. There's a body shop in my home town that specializes in restoring rare and classic cars. I've always wanted to have this shop do the body work on Herc. Since I'm bringing her home I'll finally be able to.

If you park it on dirt for a while, get Black plastic or a tarp for the ground, park on that, keeps the grass and weeds and Moisture from rotting out the under carriage.:drivin:

Welcome back, Corey! I hope you didn't bring back any strange Korean fleas or something.

And as others have said, thanks for doing what you do!
