78 is much easier, the defrost vents need to be moved, but are only held in place by 9/32's bolts, or similar, and by the fabric (flexible) duct work. The motor, if that's what you need to move, is easy to get at, the one 9/16th's bolt that holds it to the mechanism inside, and 3 3/8th's nuts or bolts (I don't remember which) on the outside, under the hood.

On the mechanism inside, you'll need to remove the air intake grille, remove the wiper arms, undo the big nuts that hold the covers on (which also hold the assy in place), and then you can get it out from the passenger side door.
