Looks like I was the latest victim of a Duracrap module taking the dirt nap... I've got a few old ones kicking around, but I was wondering if anyone has had good experience from a certain brand of modules; maybe some are better than others. I'd go to MSD, but don't have the cash now unfortunately. I'd buy a new one if there was a better brand rather than take chances with another old one...

I have never had any problems with ones I bought from Napa, not sure what the brand actually is, but never had troubles with them.

Echlin, I think, at Napa. I mean, I know what these guys have to work with - F*rd technology. Like trying to build a reliable Yugo, probably. I would've gone the Napa route, before blindly trying Brand "X" at AutoZone.

I've heard the ones from NAPA were the most reliable also...
When did your module crap out??

Echlin sounds like the way to go.
I was looking at the new property for my mom with Rick, and on the way back she started stalling out, picking back up, sputtering out more, etc. I managed to limp it home on the backroads. It would run for a minute, then stall. Then, it wouldn't start. I wacked the module with a hammer, and it would run for a minute or two again. I let it sit for about a 1/2 hour, and it ran enough to park it for now. I assumed it was the module.
Of course I grafted in the weather-paks, now I'll have to cut them off the module, or pay extra to get them on a new one.

Standard makes a pretty good module, if you can find one.

Who carries standard modules? Maybe autozone or one of those??

I think I'm going to use cotter pins to hold the module in this time, so I can do NASCAR module pit changes on the side of the road, like they change tires on the race cars.
