View Full Version : So we covered t-cases and tires, what about wheelbase and axle types for zombies?

I'm thinking, would a short wheelbase or longer wheelbase be better for zombies? A short wheelbase would be easier to manuver, but a long wheelbase is steadier. And axles, would half ton axles be enough, or should we start upgrading to one ton stuff for plowing into those really big hoardes of zombies and running really big tires? Designs for good bumpers is another topic to consider. Thoughts? (aside from do I have anything better to do lol )

Zombies really aren't that heavy. I'd say stick with 44's for max. ground clearance.

Definitely a closed knuckle axle so you don't get zombie chunks in your u-joints.

That's not a bad idea but how well do you think it will stop with all the guts jammed up in the pinion brakes.

Im thinkin one of those raod armor style bumpers/front end protecter to keep from smasing in the hood, front valence, fenders and such with all the zombies that you will be plowing through.
And since we have already discussed the bigger is better on the tires, i would have to say go with one tons to reduce the possibility of breakage when running through the thickest of zombie herds.

You are gonna have to sooner or later and Hot Dog is tall but it's not "monster truck" tall, there are going to be cars and street corners and buildings to manuver around.
Monster trucks aren't feasable due to its laess than FSJ mileage but other wise it would be the best option.

If there's zombies about, the cars and street corners are on their own. Those brakes are good in muck, mud and water. Zombies...No problem!

I see your point and John did put extra bracing to help prevent axle wrap when braking. The 304 and T15 would have to go if it hasn't been replaced yet by one of it's many recent owners.

People often complain about how low the housing hangs on the GM 14-bolt. I think it would be ideal for zombie country: Say you've run over a few, but they're not out of comission yet. That huge effing ring gear housing hanging down would do some more damage as you finish driving over them.
That's if your shotgun blast missed their heads but you still managed to run over them...with Boggers. :fsj: :drivin:

They are easy to spot with their wonderful zombie complexion, styled zombie hair, bejeweled cell phones and Hello Kitty wardrobe.

Does that mean we gotta worry about skater zombies now too? Oh man what if they hitch a ride on the bumper Michael J Fox Back to the Future style? What about a 2nd alternator ran straight to the frame and body, so anybody that comes in contact would get a good jolt???

That would work if they were on skate boards but not if they were on hover boards.

Oh now we gotta worry about hover boards too. :banghead: Oh wait, go back to one of my other posts (either the tire or tcase one) and I mentioned going Monster Garage style and converting to a floating amphib. Hover boards don't work on water. :D

That means you would have to drag them over water and they hover over water but you have to have a power source to make it move. So either way they are safe as long as they don't touch the ground or water.

All right fine, I'm going James Bond on their zombie @$$es and modifying mine to turn into a submarine when I drive into water. That should take care of them.

Now you're talking, but since they are "undead" will they be drownable?
cajun_lad
02-15-2008, 12:28 PM
Probably not drownable, but do the undead float like the dead. Guess it depends on how long they've been 'undead'?

Now were gonna have zombie marine un-life after they have eaten the zombies that have been washed off the SJ after it went under water.
