Finally got the tranny/QT rebuild all done. Moved under it's own power on Sunday.
Everything is back in place, tightened down and filled up. The great experiment is now on. Tranny and QT are filled with synthetic fluids, possibly a viable substitute for dwindling supplies of QT juice.
No stick-slip, no harsh or soft shifting, all is good so far. No leaks either!
I'll post updates on the performance of the QT from time to time, for good or bad, if anyone is interested.

Amsoil SAE 30 https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/ase.aspx and their synthetic limited slip fluid https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/ada.aspx
I get the dealer's discount so it cost me quite a bit less. Altogether I paid about $25 for 3 quarts worth.
I used their ATF in the tranny https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/atf.aspx

I only use Amsoil in my vehicles. I used to use Mobil1 until I put the Amsoil bypass system on my Cummins and haven't changed the oil in over 20K using oil analysis. I converted my GC over last year and haven't looked back. They make the best synthetic oils IMO. So your QT should be just fine.

I'm pretty sure that'll be the case, but that was some slimy stuff!! I should've gotten the pump for the amsoil bottles but didn't. The transfer pump I used got the job done, but not without a mess.
I'm avg 10,000 to 11,000 miles between changes on my '03 Chevy. That's per the oil life monitor in the ECM. Owner's manual says to go by that.
