Rear Crossmember Replacement?

How difficult is it to replace the rear cross member on a 76 Cherokee Chief? I am not sure if I am using the right name for the part so I will describe what I am talking about. It is the metal that goes accross the rear of the frame, the floorpans inside seem to be attached to it, and the tailgate hinges also. How much would it be to get welded in?
