hi there - (i asked this once before with regards to my chero, so i just want to revisit now that im driving a wag....)

my rig is an export set up in that the top of the rear lense is amber (see avatar) & when under braking & indicating, the amber portion flashes & the red brake light does not (it stays illuminated until releasing the brakes).

but the u.s. models, with the all red rear lense is the kind of set up i would like to install on my wag.

so i'm wondering, when you guys brake & are indicating at the same time, does the top of the lense & also the brake light portion flash in unison? or does the top section flash only & the brake portion stay constantly illuminated?

& when youre turning with out breaking, is it only the top section that flashes? or both again?

many thanks

Forgive my explination, I'm already 1/2 through a Lagunitas IPA :) :)

On my '87, if I installed lenses like in your avatar, the lights would work perfectly. The brake bulb is seperate from the turn signal bulb.

Hope this helps,
Clay

so what that means is that on u.s. rigs, the indicator flash isnt that obvious or easy to see when the brakes are applied - ie: it gets a little "lost" when the brake light is constantly on?

just want to understand this, get it right - you know....

thanks

thanksthe setup is the same, just a different colored lens for your country. you can still see it pretty well with both lenses red. its not lost, just the same color as the brake. now in the cherokee's, it is the same housing for the brake and signal.... so brake and signal is just signal on that side. :)

was wondering about the front & side markers - front under headlights & side front & rear - if you (any of you...) have your driving lights on low, do the front amber markers & side markers, front & rear illuminate too or is that only when on full beam?

thanks

thanks In all my variois 80s wags, they work on low or park too. If your lights dont work , the standard drill I use is to swap in a known good bulb. If that doesnt work, I start checking for grounds.

Later Wagoneers used a separate turn signal bulb for the rear as opposed to the earlier double filament, so swapping lenses on a later model is all you have to do.

All marker lights work whether high or low beam. Our terminology may vary slightly over here, but driving lights mean headlights, right?

yeh, i actually meant headlights on "normal" (driving at night) & also "low" - usually at sunset or during rain etc - i didnt ever mean to refer/infer "high beam" like when youre giving someone a flash...(or a stuff you etc)

chrisnsarah, so just to be sure, you mean low & normal beam as i mentioned here or do they only come on during normal & high - ie off when using low beam?

thanks

lights under headlights and sidemarkers all come on when you have the parking lights on (first pull), or headlights (second pull).
