What are the six hoses for on the gas tank. I don't know #5 and #6.
1 & 2- Filler and over flow. Two big ones.
3 & 4- Return line and fuel line to carb. On sending unit
5 - Next to the sending unit.
6 - At front end of tank

Both are vents that should be connected to hard lines near the transfer case.

Every gas tank has vents, some more than others. As far as I know, there is no difference in the vents on the stock tank, there is just a front vent and a rear vent. Run longer rubber vent lines from your new tank to the hard lines that were used with your old tank, problem solved. If you've only got one vent on your new tank, just run it to one of your hard vent lines and you can leave the other hard line how it is or cap it with a rubber cap if it will help you sleep better at night. If you are running this tank as an auxiliary tank, you could T your vents into the existing rubber vent lines. This would probably be your best bet.
I am running a fuel cell in my trail rig and it only has one vent, which I run to through a small K&N filter, like one for a crankcase breather. Not a lick of trouble, and my old hard lines are still in place, just capped off.

Okay thanks Scott. I didn't think that it was anything too major. I figure the hardest part will be to get the gauge to read properly.
