Just got the latest issue of Off Road Adventures and they have a short article about the J-20. The featured truck is a BEAUTIFUL '78 J-20, converted to a "dealer-approved" stakebed. It's owned by Walter Zimmerer, is he a member here?

Basically the article concludes with the thought that the J-trucks are going to become popular soon because they're stylish, uncommon and easy to restore.

The guy that wrote that story, Jim Allen, lives here in Colorado, Grand Junction to be exact. You want to talk about a guy that lives and breathes Jeep, that's the guy! If only we all could have his job!

Damm, the only thing I hate about that picture is it's really making me want to take the bed off the '73 and do that!!

Nice bed!

As much as it would please me to see the J-trucks get thier much deserved recognition as cool resto trucks, I dont think I ever want to see them become popular... parts will vanish quickly. Or, maybe this is wishful thinking, maybe a larger supply of aftermarket parts will bcome available.

I can certainly see the merit of fitting out a Jtruck with a stakebed. If I get lucky with my prospective purchase I would love to see it with a stakebed on it. How super cool would a bed like that look like on a dually?;)
