If I am getting the wrong parts, how to tell?

Say my pushrods, or lifters are wrong, should'nt I be able to turn the cam until the lifter reaches the top of the lobe, then check the spring for proper compression, or something like that? I just reaching for ideas. Dennis

You should be able to check your pushrods by comparing to the old ones. Same should go with the lifters.
