I just installed a new blower motor, but it hardly spun. While I was under the hood, smoke came out from the area behing the engine. I need help. I ran some sandpaper over the resistor plugs, so they should be good. However, I can't determine the condition of the contacts inside the plug (connected to the wires) because I cant see them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Also, after installing the new blower, I noticed that motor now wobbles somewhat. I can't remember if the original one did also. Thanks.

I feel your pain. When I turn on my heater the voltage gauge drops a full volt (typically 13.5 to 12.5). I'm thinking that I have some corrosion as well. The motor hardly blows any air as well. Here is a picture from an 88 wiring diagram if it helps. I plan on connecting mine straight to the motor until I can fix it in the springtime (less cold and can afford the down time).
