I have a 1978 Cherokee Chief Motor/tranny/T-case/Axels availble to me cheep or Free.. Are these good axels to start a build with? The thing I'm concrend with it the Q-track case and the offset rearend. I wont be using the 360. And I would like to use a D300 T-case. any info would be great! :drivin:

Most, if not all, rearends are offset some... and, unless you change the output shaft, the Qtrac is the only transfer case that will bolt up to the Jeep version of the turbo 400 tranny. The case is the same; the output is different; and the only way to change the output shaft is to gut the whole transmission, as it comes out last.
Just a couple of things to think about...

My plans are a small 4cyl Tubro Diesle... So I think the Tranny wont work for me anyways... Will the offset rear end bite me in the *** later in the build up?

Depends on what your doing with the vehicle. Are they going in a cherokee? What size of tires? Need more info, if your going harcore with big tires the 44 wont be big enough. The offset rear I have seen work with some other tcase options. Like said above most rears are offset to some degree, so it can work to line up.
