I'm considering placing an order with Bulltear... have you guys had good experiences with them stocking the items on their website and shipping in a timely manner?

i waited a month for my hei dist, but i think that was because they were behind in production at that point. works like a charm though!

I spent about $300 last year on go fast parts, they came quick enough and the order was correct. The HRC oil slinger gears are pretty nifty looking! Still waiting to install it all.

Bulltear is the best. MC is quite devoted to the AMC cause and has helped me out with a couple of things when no one else would.

I recently ordered a flexplate for my 401/727. After 5 days hadn't heard anything from them. I sent them an email and the flexplate was in the mail the next day, they sent it priority. I suspect there was some problem with paypal's ordering system... I can't be certain.

At any rate I am very pleased with their service and will not hesitate to do business with them again. You may give them a call or send an email directly to them.

Best of luck:drivin:

I order an oil pan from them and 2 weeks after I got an e-mail saying it was shipping from the supplier I called and left a message that I had not seen it. 2 days latter there it was....I think the supplier dropped the ball and not them, and they took care of it as soon as they knew, so I can't complain.

To answer my own question I ordered two items from them. The instock item shipped in a reasonable timeframe but the item that had to be drop shipped took too long (5 weeks) and far too much effort on my part to keep the communication flowing.

That said, I'd order from them again... after I inquired as to the availability of the item(s) I wanted.

So far, 2 weeks for a water pump, thermostat, and oil pump gasket. Intermittant communications (I've left phone messages, and so far no returned calls. It seems that E-mail works better). As of yesterday MC thought it shipped the day before! Perhaps he was being silly and doing a version of 'the check's in the mail'??? In all fairness I have to mention that I gave them plenty of time to ship without making noise and just started asking where my parts are a couple days ago. Hopefully I won't wind up wishing I had gone with Jegs or Summit, who were cheaper, but MC took the time to answer questions about interchangability so I bought from them. I'll post back one way or the other.

Hey folks sorry any of you have been waiting longer than expected. I run the show here and I make sure we ship 100% workable parts. Everything we sell we have installed and use here and we go overboard like have our distributor and camshaft gears rockwell tested, check all timing covers that come in, double check fitment of machined parts we do in house. Even though we do more than any other AMC parts supplier in the market today we are still subjected to long wait times for certain items. We are trying to stock everything we can so their is a maximum of 2 days wait. Whats happening in the industry is that alot of mfgs are dropping long known AMC parts from their catalogs and others are leaving the empty shelves until the next fiscal quarter. Things that are adversly affected are

1. Water pumps (Good high flowing water pumps are dissapearing from shelves and stock is at a all time low)
2. Timing covers (Actual fitting timing covers are more and more rare and even though we are the single largest volume buyer of these units we still send a high percentage back from mfg defects)
3. Oil pump midplates (We are down to the last 25 304 stainless steel midplates and due to the high price of stainless we either up our price $14 or we make them out of mild steel)
4. 401 flexplates (The only good flexplate mfg is completely out of flexplates for the 401 application and they are a ghost resource even for the large chain parts stores and the mfg states they dont have a date on more,...this includes other plates as well. The chinese import flexplates are horrendous in fit and quality)

So what is happening here is that we have had a 400% increase in sales this year and are litterally shipping hundreds of packages per week and our stock is getting dangerously low. The shear amount of orders has set us back a few days in shipping and some items are drop shipping from mfgs. Although in Chris's case where he didnt get a call back in the last two days his parts had already shipped yet the website hasnt confirmed the shipping. I am personally taking the reigns here and working with our webguy to implement some changes to make this process better. I am also having our staff work saturdays to keep up with the demand. If you come to our shop you will see shelves of CNC ported heads, blingy AMC motor parts and if you make it over to our machine shop you will see CNC machines buzzing and a HUGE pile of aluminum hay about 7 feet tall in one corner from AMC pullies. Are we experiencing a growing pain...yes...Are some orders out a little...yes...Is Bulltear a good place to buy your engine parts...yes. Is their someone to blame...yes its me I take full resposibility for all late orders. I am available from 7am to 11pm 7 days a week. If you are having a hard time getting ahold of someone one the phone here its because our phones ring off the hook. Please leave a message and thank you for your patience. If you are out of patience please email me direct at Jeepsr4ever@yahoo.com and I will see what I can do to expidite your order.

*Note We stand behind our parts 100% so for instance if you buy a timing cover or have in the last 5 years we stand behind the quality and fitment of every single piece and will replace it if it doesnt work.

Thanks for your orders guys we are growing and going and will be showing off some new trick parts as soon as we get over this hump :fsj:

As you can guess from the above post, I did get a call from MC today, and he appologized for the delay. He wasn't sure exactly what happened but I kind of got the impression that phone orders have less of a paper trail than website orders. He's going to call Flowkooler monday (I should have been installing the pump this past weekend :banghead:) and see what the deal is. Too bad they're so backlogged on their phone calls, friday would have been much better than monday) I'm hoping he can get them to expedite the !@#$ out of this and get my pump HERE tuesday a.m. If not my trip is dead and I can afford the time to re-order elsewhere and will cancel. I'll post a follow up monday.

The moral of this story is to BUG PEOPLE about your order. Wait a few days, then send E-mails, make phone calls, etc. Like they say, the squeeky wheel........

Chris dont sweat it you will definately have your pump and thermostat on tuesday morning. I am guessing the first order either wasnt processed and shipped by flowkooler or it was lost by UPS. Either way we will overnight you the parts and if you see another box with another pump and thermostat in it when you get back from your trip please ship it back we will pay you back for shipping.

Over the last year of fixing up the waggy, I must say that Bulltear and BJ's gets my business. Both MC and Ryan are stand up and very knowledgeable. If they tell you something about an order you can believe it. And as a small business man I respect someone taking responsibility, providing an almost 24hr contact direct to himself and giving back to the community (helping all the waggy owners here on the boards with free info).

Oh, and MC I still owe you $5 for diagnosing the chewed up cam gear.

Freaked out about not finding cam/distributor gears anywhere or having orders canceled or delayed for weeks and whined to these guys on their customer site. Ordered on Friday and got the gears on Tuesday. Don't know how they did it, but it helped me get out of a stuck situation on my rebuild.

I should have gone to them first.
