Hey, it's a big deal here... lots of bridges frozen over and travel problems in my area 40 miles north of Birmingham.

There's a lot more now; it's been snowing steadily for an hour since I took these. We have about two inches (come on western folks, don't laugh too hard).

we're looking for some wintery weather, but it'll probably be more ice and rain than actual snow:(
BE CAREFUL OUT THERE:thumbsup:

we had ice the last two mornings, the girlfriend was all over the freeway on her way to work at 4am yesterday. then later that morning got a dusting of snow, and traffic was locked up because of it. i took neighborhood streets all the way to work.
i hate oregonians that can't drive in the snow. granted there was ice, but people are dumb and wrecking everywhere.

We are supposed to get some snow/ice mix here at Tech tomorrow. I was planning to go home tomorrow for a 4 day weekend. Maybe not.
The local weather-nuts have been warning us for 2 days. Nothing yet.

I call the weather guys "chicken littles." They are constantly yelling that the sky is falling and we'll be lucky to survive at all.
We get a bit of winter weather in Ohio. Trust me, its not only Oregonians that can't drive. 1/3 of these boneheads forget how to drive in between storms, let alone from winter to winter. :banghead:

You have more snow than me and I'm in the northeast. It seems the snow suddenly stops when it hits the LI sound, or there's a temperature borderline that exists on the south shore of CT whenever there's rain or snow, cause we got rain at 35-40* and then a dusting of snow that vanished as soon as the sun came up. As soon as the precipitation stops it drops below freezing, but when it comes the temps go up just enough so that it only rains. Guess I need to move inland or further north.

The sleet has been going steady for about a hour here but it is melting as soon as it hits the ground because it is like 38 degrees outside and it is not expected to drop below freezing tonight. They say we might get a "wintery mix" of snow and sleet but I doubt that I will see any of it because I will be asleep when that one or two flakes comes down.:(

They said the same thing here... wintery mix with no accumulation... yeah, right...

When I was out west I got 8 inches over night it was fun. It was the first time I had driven in snow. I did good. My sister not so much.
Jeep looks at home in the snow, Dirtball.

Agreed! We saw that much come down in a 1/2 hour just a few days ago.
Snow is a blast....at first. It gets pretty annoying if you've lived in this miserable state for your entire life!

My in-laws up in Fort Payne e-mailed us some pics of it. My son was aggravated because all the times we've been up there during the winter months it never snowed even though at times it was predicted. Congrats!

Ok...:D
Finally, the weather-kooks got it right: 3 to 8 inches in western NC from foothills to mountains. It's not enough to play in but 'purty' enough to look at--if you like snow.
Now, it's raining and might freeze.

It started snowing here and it was nice and cold, I was happy, until I looked outside and saw rain. It warmed up to 34 degrees and rained instead. This keeps happening, it's like some sort of sick joke. The snow ceases at the CT coastline right now, it's so close it's not even over the horizon. The Sound and ocean are just warm enough to prevent snow.
