New here, and first off....thankyou to those who helped me with a tech question a few days back!
Nice site, hopefully I can contribute in some way.
Anywho....picked up a '79 J10 about a week ago or so, 1 owner, 83k, 4.2/auto......mint interior, exterior....not too shabby, orig. spare on orig. rim under the cap.....
Started tweaking under the hood, but thats all the time I've had as of yet.

Heres a pic-

Nice truck there and a 'proper' welcome to you too from WA ;)
Truck looks nice. IMHO 79's were the best FJS's ever built. Others may disagree though. :)

Welcome from Virginia! Nice looking Honcho. 79 and 80 are my favorite years for the Honcho. I'm guessing it has a Levis interior and a AM/FM/CB from the looks of the antenna?

Welcome, and nice looking J truck you have there. What are some of your plans for it? Just remember when you buy one of these things more will start following you home.

Thanks for the warm FSJ welcome! I have some real crap internet out here so please excuse the delay, seems it works best when its sunny and theres a wind from the east....:banghead: , we may get that resolved next week, with a'lil luck......

Plans for the truck......frankly, old school with a couple minor motor tweaks, SOA for a lift, 35" sneakers......this will be a run around truck with some occational trail duty, no plans on going virtical....more mild than wild.
This is my 2nd full size as I was an M-715 owner about 10 years ago, I loved the look, but did'nt care much for the military performance. Truth be
told, I recently finished a CJ-8 project, I also have built multible XJ's and still own 2, one stock......one, not. As someone here stated, these Jeeps
seem to follow you home, aint that the truth......

Well, with that...here's a couple more pics, as far as the Levi's interior goes, should'nt it say Levi's in the button heads?

Nice truck. I've noticed that after 78 the interiors were no longer called Levis, but they were still "denim". Your seats are in great condition. From what I've seen the denim interiors didn't hold up very well.

Thankyou for that info Chris. When I was a kid, my father had a Levi's edition Gremlin, blue denum interior....Levi red tags in the seat seams, insignia in the buttoncaps......and I thought even 'rivets' in some seams, but I may be mistaken about the rivets.........
As far as the interior in this truck goes, the orig. owner had seat covers on it from day 1 Im told, I kinda laughed it off until I removed 2 layers of seat covers.......any defects you see in the pic is simply lint from the old seat covers......I never met the owner, its from an estate sale.

Currently, I refer to it as the crazy old mans truck......he slathered some form of undercoating or something similiar all over sections of it, theres grease everywhere as well.......I took a door panel off to adjust a door, underneath the brown paper barrier, he had duct taped all the openings on the inside of the door closed.....every single area........then replaced the paper barrier........it's almost wierd..

Welcome from NJ.
Awesome Honcho! Did anyone ever even sit in those seats?! I have the same exact interior in my '80 and my seats are shredded. The buttons on my seats do not say Levi's on them. They just have a circle pattern. Keep the pics coming. Someday I'll learn how to post some too.

Hello Headhoncho......ya know, a wise man would pull that split bench seat and put on ebay as old stock/oem........
I'll admit, even covered and preserved nicely, that fabric seems thin for auto upholstrey......guess I should just....cover it up again...:hide:

Jersey huh......I gotta Cab Forward I inherited in Watchung I need to pick up this coming summer up there......my current trailer is tooo large to grab it where it's located though.....(36' and the CA's on the side of a mountain)

So tell me, is a Cab Forward considered Full Size?
