I am not sure. Some people told me it was the GXP TT model, but I never heard a wisper of the turbo.

is the track short or do they not let you run 1/4s?

the audio is timeless!!! "no waaay":lol::lol:

That was well worth the wait on 26.4!!! :p

You sir, are our hero! That 401 sounded pretty durn good. Yeah, yeah, there must have been something wrong with the wind up toy, but the Wagoneer did a respectable job getting down the lane. You Rock! :fsj:

Those little whiner ricer rigs are so cute! http://gwamp.com/offtopic/images/smiles/icon_oak.gif

Yea, it is only an 1/8th mile. There is room for cars to run 1/4, but not enough room at the end for the really fast ones to stop. If you notice on the time slip, it said "Save The Track Day at Sturgis" about May last year they tried to shut the track down, because people where building to close, and of course the track has been there before Sturgis extended through the canyon and out into the outskirts of the plains, where the track sits. But it is under new ownership and the new owners are doing alot to keep it going.

There's an old airport in Matamoras, PA that was around before any of the houses were there. IIRC it was used for fighter training in WW2. They put in I-84 and that cut the length of the runway down so only real small planes and ultralights coult make use of it. The people came in, built homes and complained about the noise, airport got shut down so they turned it into a park.

Cool, Wagoneer did pretty nice. Those ricers were kinda boring though.

Speaking of tracks getting shut down, there used to be an autocross track out here, in Bridgehampton. Idiots in the Hamptons with more money than sense built houses right on the edge of the race track property, then complained about the noise and of course they won. The race track is now being turned into a golf course. The old Grumman Naval Weapons plant not far from me was unwisely given to the town when it was shut down. Of course the town has endorsed every utterly stupid idea proposed and rejected all the sensible ones and autosport ones. One company wanted to make a few race tracks, some condos, and equestrian club. They wanted to build a dragstrip and an autocross track and were one of the highest bidders. The town opted for the 27 story indoor ski hill instead, which is a violation of building codes and under enormous protest. Before that they opted for a water ski lake. Um, we live on a freakin island! That ended when they hit groundwater after about 7 feet (in sand at seal level, that possibility would have been very obvious). Ok, sorry for the rant and partial hijack, I'm going to go now because I hear voices telling me to go kill everyone on the town board...

The driver of the solstice was pretty bad. If that was the RedLine version they were driving it like a granny. I did find the guys going "no way.. no FU*^&% way" in the back ground to be comical.

Heck yeah! Too bad you're so far away, otherwise we'd have to race. Is this your run on dragtimes? http://www.dragtimes.com/Jeep-Wagoneer-Timeslip-12675.html That's pretty darn impressive for a stocker. Keep it up!

we lost four tracks around us that had been here for the last 30-40 years. As the neighborhoods kept moving farther out, they started gobbling up the land around the tracks. Soon after, complaints of noise on the weekends got enough ordinance violations and lawsuits, that they eventually sold to the developers. There are now more neighborhoods and strip shopping centers where we use to run hot rods when I was a young-un.

Yep, that is mine. But I think you would win, with your built 401 and all. But that would be a sweet race to run. I really wish that I could run a 1/4 to see how it does.

One thing I love about CA, if something is grand fathered in, its basically immune from ordinances. Like the local gun club has been there for 40 years. Houses have now built around it. But they cant do anything about the noise levels so long as its not earlier than 7am, or later than 10pm.

Man, that Wagoneer of yours does everything! Pulling big Fords and tearing up the track. Should be mid to low 17s which is pretty respectable for any mid 70's car, especially a big SUV. Mine was nowhere near that quick with the 360.

When time and money allows, I want to do a rebuild and get some more ponies. Probally mostly torque, as if it doesnt have a supple amount as it is.

But first I think it is getting a full exhaust, instead of just a glass pack redneck'ed into place and leaking all over.
