I know our Rigs are made of the finest parts from different makers! Any idea who made the throttle linkage. When you order a new carb they want to know what make. I tell them jeep and they laughed. I figured it must me a chrysler or ford set up. Any clues?
I want to get all the right stuff (for once) and not have too many surprises.
Thanks :D

if the carb is stock itsa motorcraft 2barrel. motorcraft is a ford part. iirc itsa a 2150. wherein tarnation is Blandford? i live 30 mi south of beantown. make sure the parts guy knows it for a jeep GRAND wag,360 ci (5.9liter) v8. i would hang on to your existing carb, until i was satisfied that the replacement was working. its hard to get a decent rebuilt anything these days :(

Parts stores always want to know the exact model number of the carb, its not just a jeep thing. Yea, I too think you got a motocraft 2150 if its stock.
The transmission though is a Torqueflite 727, basically a Chrysler product. The kick down and throttle linkage may be a jeep thing. Chryco used different kickdowns over the years, so I'm not sure if it is a Jeep only set up, or a borrowed set up.

Actually, the linkage mimics GM or "universal" linkage with the accelerator cable attached to the top of the throttle shaft and the kickdown lever attached to the bottom of the shaft without any hinged piece in between.
I got several great lessons in linkage when I first went shopping for a Carter AFB a few years ago. Thinking that my Motorcraft carburetor meant I had Ford's "AT Kickdown" linkage, I bought an AFB 9637 and found out it would take major modifications to make it work. Then I wondered if a 9636 would work, because it's designed for Mopar linkage and my GW has a Chryslef TF 727 transmission...
Eventually I arrived at the correct carb, an AFB 9635 -- well, the linkage was correct anyway. And a buddy of mine got a Holley 0-80457S for his GW; this carb advertises Ford AT kickdown linkage but actually has GM/Universal linkage and a separate bracket to attach for use in Ford applications.
But the bottom line is to look for GM or universal linkage.
