Just thought I'd share my new bumper for my Waggy. I wanted to stay with the Gladiator look, like this one:

So for Xmas my hubby fabbed me up one! We made the tow hooks beefier and the overall bumper bulkier. It's big, it's bad and it's definitely ugly... thats why I love it. :)

Thanks guys! He welded a piece of 4x6 1/4" flat iron against the end of the original frame horn and gussetted it from there because there wasn't a lot of surface area.

I have a Warn M8000 winch that is going in the winch holder there, the solenoid pack bolts onto that piece of flat iron there incase you were wondering what it was. The best part? It's fully removable from the bumper so if I wanted to take the winch off, I can just unbolt the carrier from the bumper & slide it off.

What size rectangular steel tubing did you use for the main bumper? Thanks.

JohnWe used 2x8.5" rectangular tubing, 0.188 wall. A little heavy, but all the holes where the bolts go through for the tow points & winch carrier are all sleeved so it's heavy duty and we wanted a bumper that you could run into a wall & keep going.

Looks good. I like the way the brush guard looks "sort of" OEM, but is still different.

Just be careful who you run into! It looks like that bumper isn't going to bend unless you hit a semi truck!

Thats beefy alright! I suggest you knock the corners off the bottom to help your approach angle though.
