First, my seat belt light stays on all the time, and it bothers me because out of the corner of my eye it looks like a warning light.

I have looked at all the manuals for wiring, cant find the wiring otherwise... i found the wire to the seatbelt, but it runs under the carpet and i cant find the ame wire running back out under the dash. I posted about it before, but im getting frustrated now smile.gif

next, my tires bark when i turn and i know i only have a plain old amc 20 with no extra stuff, is it cause i got 31's? or is it cause it a wide track, or something else? it seems to have gotten worse sence i bought it

also, my power window is getting relly slow going down.. is it the motor or the flex track?

and, my power door locks from the drivers side dont always work, if they dont, and i hit the pass side button a couple times, then the drivers side starts working agian...

and last, my brakes lock up really easy... i have taken it to many brake shops trying to find where it would need an ajustment cause i cant see anything wrong myself... and niether can the brake guys.... like i just tap the brakes, but fast and suddenly i'm in a skid... any ideas?

Find out what brakes lock up first. A gravel road and a friend can help you with that. If its the back (most likely) you can try putting some more weight back there.

ive been working on the p/locks and windows for a few days now. finally got the l/r door fixed. the issues are pretty much the same. the parts need greasing. the good news is that you only have 2 doors. if the window goes up and down, the motor and flex track are ok. buy a can of white lithium grease or a tube of it. use it on the flex track rail.use some sorta silicone on the side channels too. the power door lock is the same story.the latch is sticky and so are the push rods that move it. in addition a $1.40 expansion spring, #61, iirc, from the true value spring selection added to the actuator push rod and hooked to the big cut out above it with a paper clip help the actuator push the button up.some fiddling with the paper clip is needed to adjust the tension so it will lock. all of this stuff is easiest to work on if they are removed from the door. if you have a power mirror, be careful not to pull it apart as you remove the panel. i unplug it from the harness(3 connectors). next, you will need some torx sockets. a t-27 to remove the latch, and a t-20 or t-25 for the window regulator. to undo the flex track from window, you need a t-15. btw, my 81 wag ltd used the older style power lift and that used a rig more like the tail gate. regulator. ymmv. the actuator is riveted in. dont mess with that if it works. if that still doesnt fix it then the contacts on the drivers door switch may be cruddy.mark the wires , draw a diagram, and take the switch out. either , buy a new one or take it apart and clean it. do this inside on a sheet of news paper. watch out for fling parts, its got springs. tiny ones. i use a small brass bristle brush to clean the contacts. dont use sand paper. the brakes, prolly the rears (as MT said) could be grabbing because the rear shoes are greasy or soaked in brake fluid.or the rubber hoses could be disintegrating and not releasing the pressure because they are blocked. the seat belt light may be fixed by unplugging the connector at the belt.

If you have full time 4X4, the barking is coming from a slip/stick condition in the transfer case. Nothing to do with your AMC 20, which is the rear differential. Drive in some figure 8's in an open parking lot for a bit, maybe that will help.

andy d - hey thanks, that was aload of very usefull info- ive never had to feal with power opts before, so its a whole new world smile.gif

No, its not full time- its an np208. It is the rears that lock up, they are new brakes, i just had em checked, no leaks, no freyed or weak lines. As of right now theres about 50lbs of furniture in the back cause that was the only place i could think to store it :D but it dose it with or without.

where exactly is that plug by the belt? i cant find it for the life of me.

You may want to try a new check valve for the power brakes. It's the plastic thing that goes into the booster. I drove an old chrysler once that would lock up the brakes like crazy - it was a bad check valve. And it's only a couple of bucks to replace.
