I NEED MORE POWER!!!

I have an 83' J-20 and have done alot of work to it.
Holley projection
Racing cam
Turbo muflers
msd ignition
msd blaster coil

I want more low end.
if anyone has a sugjestion let me know

What cam do you have?

What gears are you running and with what tires? This has a lot to do with it. You can beef up the engine all you want but if the gears are to high (lower number) and have big tires then you will have a big loss of power.

Ditto the cam question. Couple a top end cam with tall gears and you get poor performance for most situations.

I can light up all four 31's on mine...go figure. smile.gif One would think a J-20 would have low enough gears, but maybe not. I have my good ol' 4:11's and manual tranny. :cool:

automatic transmission? if so buy a higher stall convertor and be sure and tell the place you're buying the convertor from what camshaft you have they have to be a "matched" set for the engine and transmission to work in harmony

yea,with a blower,who cares about gearing?even though that would be a nice setup.
