I finally found a '91 GW. It needs some work, but I am very pleased.

Thanks, I've already got an '05 Wrangler, so I'm used to the endless options of wasting a paycheck.:D

As for my plans...

I've already gave it a tune up, new shocks, new brakes, new stereo system, new carpet, new mats.

I am having some trouble adjusting the carb. it seems to be running really rich. I can't seem to find the adustment screws on the carb.

Idle mixture screws are on the bottom, front side. They will only adjust your mixture at idle however.

I'd say you have yourself a winner on the looks. What about mechanical soundness? Runs/ drives good?

NICE!!!
Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

BTW I know someone else hunting for a decent late-model Wag. Have you come across any others lately?

Tony,

I saw a white GW in Wilmington today at a car lot. Don't know what year, but it looked really clean. It has the sand interior. Price on windshield was $7995.00.

I can get more info if you want.

.

As well you should be! Welcome to the insanitude! :D

As for the carb running rich you may want to look at a possible failing power valve. One pop-back during a cold start can do the valve in. Idle mix screws on many later carbs were plugged so that the owner couldn't monkey with them....

Shop manuals usually read on those fuel systems something like "Idle mixture adjustments are neither necessary nor possible..."

Thanks, sorry for the delay. I really just want to get everything back to stock, w/ the exception of all the emissions stuff. Luckily I only need a "saftey" inspection here in NC. I just need to figure out all the stuff I can take off.

ncjeepers, I think I spoke to you about a late model GW. I might need some help w/ this carb issue. I know just enough to be dangerous.
