View Full Version : AirValve Under my Jeep?

Tracing down some wiring I came across a "tirevalve" mounted on my rear bumper. It has two VERY small diameter lines that appear to run to the rear shocks. Kind of neat, but what's it good for? My jeep sags a little on the right hand rear, will this do anything for me? If I start pumping air in there and it lifts the back of my truck, can I get the air out through this valve? Thanks for being nice about my silly questions.

You must have or have had in the past, air shocks. If you still do, you can add and remove air through that valve. The lines could be leaking, however, or the shocks could be blown. Pump it up to find out, but look closely at the shocks, there should be a maximum pressure stamped into them. ;)

Apparently the PO has installed air shocks. Nice touch for hauling heavy items but it is no meant to replace sagging springs. To answer your question, Yes you can remove the air from the shocks using that air valve, just like bleeding air from a tire :D :D
