Not that this would be a surprise, as the Gladiator runs like a champ and I would trucst it anywhere. But I wasn't driving the Gladiator today.
I was driving my Honcho:fsj::thumbsup:
Figured what the heck, you onlly live once, and took it to work for it's maiden voyage. Not a big deal, but since I get out at 11PM and live in the hills I would have had a long cold walk back home.
A few observations.
3rd is the new 4th. I won't be seeing much of 4th gear in this truck. Hills that I can blaze up at 50mph in 4th in the 71 I have to take in 2nd and 3rd with the Honcho.
Unbalanced 33x12.5's and a front end that needs alignment make for fun steering. Probably the vibes I'm feeling in me brake pedal as well.
Having the FM part on my radio is fun.
My head lamps point at the ground.
The Honcho is MUCH lighter then the Gladiater, especially in the rear. This was made very obvious when I floated my rear end around corners.
My Track Lok actually works. Took me a while to figure out why the rear felt funny. I figured that with 83K miles on it, it would be toast.
The thing rides 10x smoother then the Gladiator, then again, it isn't rated for half the payload the Gladiator is.
Everything works but the fuel gauge. Well, the guage works but the sender doesn't. A new one should take care of that.
Overall I'm pretty impressed with it. It did better then I expected.
