Trying to keep my Lumina from feeling discriminated against (I've been tweeking my 88" GW's sound systems for the past couple months), I bought a Boss MP3 headunit to replace the factory unit and tore out the factory unit today... pleasant suprise, I can't tell what the heck all the wires go to. The '93 Lumina Euro's head unit wires are all the colors of the rainbow and I haven't a clue what color hooks up where (heck, there's no stinkin' red for power even, just a faded orange). I lost the owners manual as well.
Is there any website within our collective knowledge that tells what wires goes where? I'd hate to go out and buy a Haynes manual just to figure out what wires go where.
Thanks!

We're talkin for the Jeep right? No clue for a Lumina.
Okay this is from the Haynes (it worked for my 87/88 Jeep):
violet/orange = hot in acc and run
blue = light switch ??
pink = hot all times
grey = power ant. relay
orange/white = inst. panel intensity light
black = ground
For speaker connections pop the panels off and look at the actual speaker connections....mine were different from the haynes manual.

Call Crutchfield and get an adapter. They have it all...

buy a Haynes manual. they have the wiring diagrams. they are pretty close to correct.
I bought an adapter at Kay-mart for like $7, I think. The wiring diagrams that come with the adapter are so good, you could still re-wire it yourself if you just can't stand to do things the easy way.

DjD is right, do yourself the favor and buy the harness. it will plug right into the factory plug and the pigtail end will match the new radio you just bought color for color. Or the orange is the B+, and the yellow is ign., left front speaker will be a gray and a light tan, right front speaker will be a green and a light green, the rears I cant remember which side but I Know the pairs, brown and a yellow go together and blue and a light blue. Have fun!!!

Well, I don't know how I did it, but it's done.
I found the audio wiring schematics for a '93 Cavalier on-line and jotted the corresponding colors down. I figured since my Lumina is also a '93, they should be awful close... it turned out to be identical.
I completely smurfed up the antenna, the part I thought would be the easiest for sure. The Lumina's antenna plug was bent at a right angle, and the head unit didn't like that one bit, so I tried to straighten it out and it snapped.
I tried it, it works... ugly as sin since there isn't enough depth for the deck to fit, so it sticks out a bit. The 10" Boss woofers were taken out of the Jeep and put in the Lumina and sound great. I spent about two hours searching for a ground when it was the stinkin' remote wire that became disconnected from the power antenna wire the whole time.
I bought two 15" Boss woofers for the GW, so as soon as the amp for them arrive, my Jeep will have sound again.
Thanks for the replies! Such a great place.

Oooh, GM fun, fun, fun! If the stereo sticks out a good couple of inches, the adapter kit sucks. Your best bet is to plate that area up and find some other place to mount your stereo.
