Pro to living in the Midwest...snow/mud to play in

Con - salt on the road eats your rig

We're supposed to get 4 inches or better tonight...I'll see about getting some shots of the Gladdy out playing and being eaten alive via road salt at the same time...

We got 2 or 3 inches here in eastern Pa, yesterday. I did take the honcho out to drive on the snow slickened roads for the first time since I've had it. In 4wd it did amazing. The 31" at tires I bought earlier this year turned out to get really good traction on the slic roads. Unfortunately, my camera stopped working earlier this year so no pics.

Sure.. I just want to see snow and old jeeps....

Someday, I will use my jeep to pull somebody out of a ditch due to ice... I just know it...

And yes... I will have a liability waiver signed first.

Maybe I'm predjudice, but Tonka you should send that shot for a December picture on the AMX's calender.

Maybe I'm getting old or just got Glad on brain, but that pic. looks better than a nude girley mag. pic.

I can't remember if that was last season or the one before.

I'm working on that truck this winter, so no plowing for it until next year. I didn't know what I was going to clear my driveway with this year, then a plow for my XJ just kinda fell in my lap. Figureativley speaking of course....

Last year we had a very bad ice storm, it knocked out 2,000 power poles in the area. I spent the first day after the storm running around with a friend pulling branches and trees out to the street for people and calling in downed power lines. The next day, I still had to move all the limbs on our property and my back was trashed from the previous day. So ole' Rampage found some use.:D

Can't wait to get home in March hopefully there will still be some snow in upstate NY then for me to go play in. Till then I will just have to play in the mud in Iraq in my 6 wheel drive 26 ton truck. Have fun everyone take lots of pics:drivin:

So this is the morning after the first snow of the season- about 8" in 8 hours.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/AnnihilationPrinciple/1979%20Jeep%20Cherokee/IMG_00971.jpg

I loaded up the quads on that trailer and headed towards town. Took the back way. Up a steep hill. Covered with ice. at 8 in the morning. and 20 degrees or so... farhenheit. Maybe less. It was freakin' cold. Made it 95% of the way to the top then couldn't go any farther. Tires were spinning spinning spinning. Had to back down like a mile or so... Maybe more. In white out conditions. Then I backed into a snow bank and got stuck... I had to ride home on a quad and leave the Cherk and trailer. and then I had to get pulled out... I blush.

How I wish my T/C worked. Fat tires on ice is no bueno...

Hopefully I'll have REAL snow wheelin' pics soon.

I didn't notice it was heart shaped. I did notice it was kinda cool looking, but really didn't pay it much attention. That's all natural, early morning, Utah Sun rising over Split Mountain. Only P/S is on resizing and maybe... exposure. I forget.

Just checked the weather, we have a 'severe weather alert' for 2-5" of snow tomorrow afternoon. lol. Well, I got the GW, and my last final tomorrow, hope the majority of the snow can hold off until nighttime so I can go play in it and people won't be stuck trying to drive in it, I hate driving in the snow on the highways here, people are either crazy fast or stupid slow. Cruising the local roads and the beach will be fun tho. I'll have pics up asap...

Got a couple inches of snow here, nothing serious but went for a little drive anyway. Roads are a mess but I had no trouble, couldn't even make the Jeep slide if I pressed on the brakes hard. I drove into a little construction site, splashed through a few puddles and drove up a little embankment. All I have pics of tho are sitting on the dirt road. After that my dad and I stopped by the local winery to see if it was open, to our surprise it was, so we each had a glass of Reisling and then went home. Before going home though I did some donuts in a couple cul de sacs on my block, which required 2wd, did a few 2wd powerslides, and then parked in the driveway. I only have pics from the driveway and dirt road for now, I'll get more tomorrow in the daylight.

Ok, not much for snow here, but it looks pretty I guess. I'm hoping for some real blizzard weather this winter. Anyways heres pics from a few minutes I spent playing around in some old farmfield turned semi wooded field like area near my house. I tried to get a couple videos of powersliding and splashing through puddles, but this camera is a piece of junk so it didn't work. I need to save up and buy a nice camera. Anyways:

Some long haired feller came by today with some J20 tanks from Ristow. To show my gratitude, we took a spin up to the forest service roads above Echo Basin but found the gates locked. The snow was beautimous tho! Then we rode over by Jackson Lake for a looksee and the gates were locked there too. Only ATVs and Skiskooters. That area is 8500 feet plus and looked like they had close to a couple feet on the snow from the last couple storms. Melted down to 8-10" in the beuatiful sunny weather the past couple days.
