well heres my idea narrow each side about 6 inchs in the front and by the hinge part come up about an inch or 2 up from the past the hinge. and then connect the dots for the hood. then narrow the front part that holds the grill the 6inchs or so. now here my big scratch on the head which is to use tubed fenders like on tjs or get the factory fender flares with the lights in it.

Definately sounds interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a FSJ with a narrowed front clip. Cool idea and good luck.

sounds like an idea, i have been thinking along the lines of just cutting a pie section from the hood, inner fenders and front support and drawing everthing in and welding the snot out of it. using the gladiator front grill of course.
just remember when you get started, and during take plenty of pics.

I had the flat fender Idea for My 1970 J2000, thinking about opening up the inner holes where the vents are, move the head lights into those holes, then cut out the metal across the front where the headlights were.
Make tube style flat fenders, would still need to cover the tires here in pa, but I would have lots of room for the 38s.:drivin:

should be good. its a simple thing to do, but go find a decent clip at a pick'n'pull to work on, that way you've still got the original if you decide to flipflop. Flatfender idea does rock, just don't run it past y'er old man. I rarely do, what he doesn't know, won't hurt him

I'd sell those rear fenders to someone here on the board.
