View Full Version : need structual help
ok so I made my 4 door waggy a convert, well the roof is cut off right behind the driver door. I am going to weld the back doors shut. So right now the front of the rear drivers side door is rubbing the back top of the front door and I would like to figure out what I should do about it before welding it shut. Plus I would like to get a full cage installed that is tied into the frame but I dunno If the frame has been "adjusted"
any suggestions? was this cause by frame flex? body flex? or both?

jacking it up opens the gap a little bit on the top of the door. Im gonna try taking some of the bottom hinge shims out
I think what Gemobx was hinting at is, your body is sagging. You may want to add another body mount under where the two doors meet. This will replace the support that roof was giving.

Yes what dean said,or while youve got it jacked up and leveled you may want to weld some flat stock under the rockers to help re-enforce the body,or another fabbed up body mount may be just as easy. At any rate the roof hepled support the body nice and straight without it the body will sag trying to taco itself, you may want to re-enforce the frame if its not boxed already also.
