Can I make my own? I've heard of people making their own carb gaskets. I recently pulled the lock cylinders out to install the new springs to keep from getting locked out all the time. The old gaskets broke and turned into dust before they hit the ground.

BJ's Offroad has 'em. Check the vendor page.

If you make your own, it would be hard to get them to seal properly, these are great:

OK. The BJ's kit looks good. All my gaskets are hard as rocks and cracked and painted over. What do I do about the tailgate lock cylinder / switch gasket?

Wow. I looked but I guess not hard enough. I got to get a notebook to record all these parts and what they are called for future searching.
I'll be calling BJ's this afternoon to ask about the lock cylinders themselves. Not sure how they fit together once they have been keyed. Specifically, how does the chrome cover fit on to keep everything in place and prevent someone else from taking the cover off and opening your vehicle?

The lock cylinder is held in place by an flat plate (sort of U shaped) that slides inside the door and can only be removed when the door is open.
