I am looking for the vacuum motor that screws into the top of the front differential. Mine is froze up. I have a post in the wanted section for this. Please help, snow is coming!!! Shipping to 60118.
You talking bout XJs?
I think you need to axe this question on www.naxja.org (http://www.naxja.org) - they cater to Jeep XJs. This is a board for FSJs - none of us have vacuum motors on our axles AFAIK.

Ummmm....My 86/83 Grand Wag had a vacuum motor on the front axle, it was part of the 229 setup. If you look around at most local junk yards, you should be able to find one. That particular axle isn't very popular for conversions, so any FSJ that came with one will more than likely still have the axle underneith it. Hope this helps!
My bad...
I guess AFAIK is not too far tongue.gif

It's cool. Right now I'm an idiot on another post for explaining the operation of a NP219, of which I know nearly nothing! :D

just for grins try running new vacuum hoses. the steel lines rot out where they run under the manifold. happened to both my fsjs with vac disco d-44s. i just tied the hoses along the inner fender.

Thanks for the tip Andy, but I know for a fact that it is frozen. It is up in the air and I have applied pressure and vacuum, it does not budge.

You can convert it to a Shift Cable operation, and do away entirely with the vacuum hoses!
