Yes it's true, Arnold Schwarzenegger has a very nice all black Grand Wagoneer. Last week on CNN they did a report on how he has taken it to Wichita KS for a little rework. Ya, WICHITA! He's pulling the fossil fuel burner for a veggy burning diesel setup at H-line Conversions. These boys specialize in turning H1s and H2s into 1000 horse clean smoking diesel powerhouses. Arnold sent his very clean (3" lifted - 33 shoed?) all black very nice Grand Wagoneer for the conversion. Price: unknown, but since a stock long block runs around $12,000, and these are complete systems pumping 1000 horse, it's got to be around 25k for the conversion. Just a guess. I just thought it cool to see how the Waggy is still such an Icon. You still see them in movies, adds, and in the collections of the rich & famous!

$40,000 was the number I read for Neil Young's Lincoln conversion. I find it hard to believe 100 mpg but it's got to be pretty good regardless.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Jeep Wagoneer Biodiesel Duramax conversion with Allison Transmission and a full Hummer suspension
The Duramax Diesel 6600 V8 engine has been designed to satisfy the heavy-duty customer's need for power, durability, and fuel efficiency. In short, this is the most powerful diesel ever produced for a GM heavy-duty pickup or chassis cab. Available now in 2500 HD and 3500 GMC Sierra® and in Chevrolet Silverado® pickups and chassis cabs.

The Duramax Diesel 6600 has exceptional power and performance. Ratings are 300 horsepower @ 3,000 rpm and 520 lb-ft of torque @1,800 rpm. It's high, flat torque curve will deliver more power across the power band than any competitor, and will help Duramax Diesel 6600-equipped GM HD pickups excel in off-the-line performance, acceleration and heavy-duty trailering and hauling.
Duramax Diesel, when combined with the Allison 1000 5-Speed automatic transmission, creates a complete Powertrain package that allows the Duramax engine to "put the power to the wheels" - creating an outstanding towing/hauling combination.

Drove by the shop and saw the back end of it through the windows. Made me want to throw rocks at mine! Several of my friends have talked to the shop owner. Pretty interesting guy from what I gather. I keep meaning to stop in for a chat, but I'd have to detail and wax my rig to feel worthy.
