I have a '66 j-3600 with 327 and th-400. The motor has had at least 200000 miles since it was rebiult and I just cant find a power steering pump for it, I really don't want to have to change to manual so I was wondering if a chevy 305 or 350 would bolt right up, I think the tranny would bolt up, right? its a th-400 so does that mean that it would have be a big blobk? and mounts, will what I have work or will I have to have some welded on?
Thanks for putting up with the neive questions.

the trans case can be changed to a chev just put your internals in a chev case as far as motor mounts you will have to make some up for what ever engine you use and once you change the trans case you can run a chev v-6/small v-8/big block v-8/ or inline 6 cyl

a power steering is pretty much generic. i would take yours off and head for a bone yard.chances are you will find a close match. try to get one from an intact system. that way theres less chance that the seals have dried out.

I dunno about the innards of your PSpump... but my 78 is fitted with a 93 Chevy Burb pump... I had the Burb resevoir in it too, but I took it out cuase it leaned too far over and would dump fluid a bit... but th4e innards of the pump off the 93 was a direct bolt-in to the OEM PS resevoir on my 78.

The 327... is it a Chevy or a Kaiser? This makes all the difference in the world.

Advance Adapters make conversion motor mounts.... RamJet has them on his 80 FSJ fitted with the RAMJET 350 chevy motor and 700r4 tranny

Since it a 66 and stock it willbe the old rambler 327 Vigilante, same one I use to have.

When you mount on a newer steering box to your old frame there are only three mounting points on your frame, but the three other spots will line up> I have had a 79 box on my 67 for awhile and have had no trouble with it at all.
