I'm wanting to upgrade my '63s axles, atleast the front closed knuckle..which other stock axles are the same width? I'd also like to adapt power brakes...and discs in the front would be a plus..hmmm I want it all smile.gif

63 Wag or truck?
Width wise if you have a Wag you'll need to stay with Wags axles or narrow-track Chero's and if you have a truck you'll need to stay with truck axles or pre-80 wide-track Chero axles.
Plan on swapping the rear also or plan a ring & pinion swap too. You'll be hard pressed to find later axle with your present gears. 4.09 or 4.27 w/manual trans or 3.73's with AT.
You also need the complete steering system from the later model donor.
Open-knuckles with disc brakes became standard on Wags in 74. Open-knuckles standard on Cheros and trucks also from 74 but discs were still optional till 76 when they became standard. 80 and later axles won't work at all easily, the diffs are in the wrong place so if you use those you'll need to at least swap x-cases and prolly trannies too.
74 to 79 is your best search area.
