Hopefully, someone can give me an idea of how much lift my truck has. One of the many POs had lifted the vehicle (about the only thing good about it when I got it). I am guessing its about 2", but I have never found another Cherokee near by for comparison. The distance from the ground to the edge of the fenderwell is 33" at the front and 35" at the back. The tires are 31x10.5s. Maybe someone else with a Cherokee and 31s can measure their's for comparison.

This pic may help.

For a 77 WT Chero stock sill plate step height is 20.7" and stock overall height is 67.6". Keep in mind that's with stock tires also. I would measure your true tire dia and figure from there. I doubt someone measuring a stock 26 year old vehicle will give you much of an accurate number relating to how it sat when new.

My step height is about 22.5" at the middle of the sill plate. Its about 23" at the rear of the door and a little less at the front, so I think the lift at, least in the front, is about 2". In the rear it appears to be lifted more. What I want to do is get the last bit of wander out of my steering. When I first got the truck it wandered all over the road. You had to drive it with two hands on the wheel at all times. I got rid of about 90% of the wander by adding degree shims up front (2.5 degrees). I am planning on increasing this to 3 or maybe 3.5 degrees. However the truck also tends to pull a little bit to the right when braking. Thus, it occurred to me that I don't really know exactly how much lift is on the vehicle. If its 4", a droped pitman arm would be called for. At 2", I don't know if you need a dropped pitman arm or even if one is available.

I'm pretty sure that's not 4"s. I lifted a Chero 4" and with 31s the tires had a lot more clearance then what you are showing in the pic. With 4" the 31s look too small for the rig.

yeah with a WT 31's look tiny with a 4". Your rig looks stock to me. Maybe a 2.5" AAL, but definately not a 4" system.

What are your measuremments from the tire to the fender flair for the front and back?

That's a 2" lift alright. Mine has no lift and 33's but with sagging springs. I've seen others with a 4" lift and and a stock rig with good springs. Your's is definately in-between. The good news is that you can fit 33's on your rig and they should't rub at all unless you do some real heavy off-roadin. For moderate trails you'd be in good shape.

Yeah that sounds like a 2.5" lift.
