purge control valve

hey everyone. I was doing my daily " how can I get my engine to run better" thing and I noticed that I had this hiss coming from the charcoal canister. I pulled off the valve cap and the diaphram was all ruined, disformed, and such. what would this do to my preformance. where can I get a new diaphram or should I get a new canister?

I am sure someone has had to replace the charcoal canister or the purge valve. how about some advice.

They cost about $55-70 to replace, depending on your source. Chances are yours is used up anyway.
