Can someone tell me how to go about fixing the flex-track? The motor spins but nothing happens ... the lines seem to be broken ...
The 89' doesn't have screws holding the motor in place. Does that mean I have to grind/drill out the existing rivits and re-rivit when finished?
HELP =)
thanks :confused: cheetabug1978@aol.com

Put the drill down, big boy! All you should have to do is take off door panel, remove bolt hold window to flextrac, let window down...gently, remove track (you may actually have to use the motor for this), should just back off, put on new track, attach window bolt, attach door panel, and clean up. Pretty easy job, you might want to lube the track with some lithium grease before putting the track on (WARNING: This stuff can get very messy, so watch where you place your hands. It is grease and doesn't like to be cleaned)

the flex track can be gotten from the stealer or aftermarket supply houses. Its like $14 from the dealer.

AGGGHHH Frustrations:
OK ... so I am an idiot from PA what can I tell ya.
The window has been stuck in the down position. I took the bolt out & low-n-behold the window frees up! That made my day b/c I thought I was on the right track.
I then tried to find this "flex track" but to no avail (I'm assuming it's a plastic piece that runs to & fro the motor?). I also took a look at the portion that is supposed to move on the guide rail and it only moves, with the force of God, about 2 inches and then stops.
In looking at the broken piece in the bottom of the door-well it looks like a metal cable that has metal looming around it.
Am I dealing with a bigger problem here? I don't know if the 89's windows are different than those you had noted? (though everything other than that window bolt is rivited).
Please accept my humble apology for being a moron ;).
