Paint code

Does anybody knoe the paint code for Burgandy in an '89 GW? I checked the data plate & it looks to be PE 8. But the Duplicolor catalog doesn't list it. Closest is PE 9-Dark Cordovan. Is that it?

HE8 is a Dark Vivid Red Metallic Clearcoat, which appears rather burgundy-ish. Remember monitors may not display the colour exactly. And codes may be slightly different....letter prefix, etc. But if you had PE8, HE8 sounds likely, and is the closest to a burgundy there. If you can find a colour chip chart or....factory sales book (I have one for that year, but not sure where it is at the moment), as they will list the colours as Jeep had them then. Remember, though, that if you are repainting, or touching anything up at this point....the paint may not be as solid as the original....it could have faded some over time. So, you may need to match your current paint moreso than getting the exact original. Some food for thought, but hope it helps!

Thanks. I think it was repainted but looked to be the same color as original.

My 89 is the dark vivid red metallic. I used the paint scratch stuff to refinish the inside fender where the battery spilled and ruined the finish.

Perfect match.
